Summer Dreams for Winter Days.

View from a Dock

As the days shorten and the weather grays up, as the rains fall and snow feathers the mountains, it's nice to hold an alluring summer scene in our hearts.

Whether we suffer from SAD or not, that light that energizes summer is something we all crave in this coastal region.

The Pacific Northwest Coast is scenically beautiful, and many areas of it, including the alluring Gulf Islands, enjoy a microclimate known as "cool Mediterranean"...this means that this thin strip of coastal beauty does not experience the real winter that befalls the rest of Canada.

Nevertheless, grey skies and showery conditions can prevail. It's always good to remember the hues of summer on a blustery day...the lure of tranquil ocean, the ripple of a kayaker's paddle, the ease that sun & warmth encourage....

Keep the image of summer firmly present as we shroud into winter's grey. The year is in quarters...early Spring's promise leads to Summer dreams. Just around the corner!

Meantime...an image of Summer's best, to inspire....

Beautiful picture - here in Northeast Florida, we are just coming into our GORGEOUS time of year, when we have lower temps and less humidity - I just turned my AC off the other day!

Li,

Gorgeous picture, we have had summer weather all week and more to come.  Santa Barbara was 85 yesterday, and we are loving this extension of summer.  Have a great day, A

Our summer just ended a few days ago . . . we had a mansoon over the weekend.  So I don't miss the summer yet, but the photo is lovely and you're right to remember it during the dark days ahead.
