TIDDIES: The Perfect Gift For the Guy or Gal Who Has Everything

Every year I struggle to figure out what to get a few folks. This year, I had a flashback to when my brother was in high school. I remember he picked up a pair of Tiddies on a trip to Galveston. He LOVED those sandals. Probably mostly because they were called TIDDIES, but hey... he loved them.

The perfect gift for the guy or gal who has everything! So I Googled TIDDIES. Sure enough -- They are still around.  They originated in 1973 in Pasadena, Texas. So Tiddies are a "TEXAS Thang" (in case you’ve never heard of them.) ☺

Tiddies were BIG thing in the 70’s. EVERYONE wanted a pair. They are thick, soft, sandals. After you wear them for a while, the sandal makes an imprint of your foot in the soft sole. Their motto is "Soft shoes for a hard world." They are perfect for casual wear AND for the beach. The straps are made of surgical tubing and are super soft.

Here's the BEST PART -- Their made in the USA!!

I know... we are headed into winter. But this is TEXAS. Trust me, there are days in the fall and winter that we can still pull out a pair of shorts and sandals. And  we do!

Besides all that... I bought this item for these folks because they already have  EVERYTHING... Except their own TIDDIES!

As with all TIDDIES, they come in several sizes: (thickness of soles)

♥ BIG KNOCKERS ♥
♥ Chi Chis ♥
♥ 3 Layer ♥
♥ Iddie Biddies (for the kiddies). ☺ ♥

There are tons of colors. I ordered a pair of SUNSET Chi Chis for my Sam Houston State University Bearkat, a maroon pair of BIG KNOCKERS for my recent A&M graduate, and the purple and gold pair for my wild and crazy son, Jonathan!

The perfect gift for the guy or gal who has everything!

If I were ordering for me... I would get the LIME GREEN BIG KNOCKERS with the blue straps. Surprised?!  0:O)

There’s something for everyone -- except The Princess Mama -- She’d NEVER wear anything called “Tiddies”  FOR PETE'S SAKE! *wink!

The perfect gift for the guy or gal who has everything!

So... If you have someone on your list that is HARD TO SHOP for, visit www.MyTiddies.com and check them out. I’m POSITIVE these sandals will be the talk of the family Christmas party!  HA! ☺

P.S. I ordered these babies and they were in my post office box in just a couple of days! And that was with the FREE shipping!

I can't believe they still manufacture Tiddies. I had a pair of those back in the '70s. I just couldn't wear them because the surgical tubing between my toes apparently pressed a nerve and caused a severe pain. I really loved the otherwise!!

Joni, I can see why those would be popular with especially younger kids.  Unlike Mark the title caught my attention for other reasons.  That brand name can cause the mind to wonder else where ............ LOL

Good Morning Joni,

I have to admit I have never heard of tiddes. They actually look really comfortable. I may buy a pair for myself. Certainly not common in my neck of the woods. Which might make than a better gift to give out for me. I am sure that so many folks will ask the person where they got them and what better PR for me.

Thanks for sharing

Joni,

You need to negoitate with the comapny that makes the Tiddies to give you some cash for doing all this great advertising for their product! I have lived here for amny years but never herard of Tiddies.. Sounds interseting and yes there will be many days we can wear shorts and flip flops during the supposed winter!

Hi Joni,

These are just too cute and I may get some for my daughter for Christmas. I honestly have never heard of these and it sounded like some kind of baby item when I first saw it. I like new things .....and your new hairdo is adorable.

Joni, too cute!   Never heard of Tiddies, thinking they were underwear!    We can still wear sandals during the day here too, but soon it will be a bit too cool.    These are pretty neat!

Kristin: These were wildly popular in the 70's. Nothing like some retro gifts for the younger generation!

Melissa: Yes, and you go to the beach a lot. The whole family can have some! :))

Peter: WAH! I'm sorry to hear about the gray season. That sounds terrible!

Joan: Even in December there are sometimes sandal days. But January and February... probably not. (Notice I didn't say no way!)
