You really have to make an early tee time this time of year. The sun goes down pretty fast in the mountains of New Hampshire. Maplewood Country Club in Bethlehem NH offers a challenging turn of the century Donald Ross design.
The first hole looking back towards the 100 + year old club house - what a nice venue.
Many of these Ross design holes having sloping fairways and challenging greens. There are plenty of tough shots here - but you are rewarded at every hole with a great view.
It wouldn't be too long before the area is all covered in white - not just the 6,300 Mount Washington visible from many of the holes on the Bethlehem New Hampshire course.
The only way to get to Maplewood C.C. from the south is to travel through the Franconia Notch State park and enjoy the site of Mount Lafayette (shown 10/17/12). The "Notch" is also home to Cannon Mountain ski area a popular Alpine ski resort.
