I recently wrote a blog about Atlanta's world class greenspace called Piedmont Park and what an asset it is to this city. This really got me thinking about other things that make Atlanta a world class city to live in and to visit. I wanted to highlight the historic Ansley Inn located in midtown Atlanta. Not only is this a beautiful place to stay while visiting Atlanta, it is centrally located to everything in the city! The inn is located within walking distance of Piedmont Park shopping, restaurants (including The Flying Biscuit, Agnes & Muriel's, The King & I, Cowtipper's, and Einstein's), theaters (including the Alliance Theater, Whole World Improv Theater, and the Fox Theater), nightclubs, and bars. Now some of these would be quite a walk but there are always taxis (note you cannot hail a taxi in Atlanta) or Atlanta's mass transit system called MARTA that goes pretty much everywhere! In fact if you are going to take in a local Hawk's basketball game, a Brave's baseball game, a Thrasher's hockey game, or a Falcon's football game I would definitely recommend taking mass transit because you avoid traffic and you don't have to pay to park.

The Ansley Inn also features sumptuously appointed rooms in the main house and a less expensive wing that has been added on. They serve a wonderful made to order breakfast in a grand dining room. In the evenings there is complimentary wine and cheese. This is a wonderful alternative to the larger hotels you find in most cities. Get a taste of the real Atlanta and treat yourself to a weekend at the beautiful and historic Ansley Inn.
