12 Comments on Alex Cross- the movie, my review...
Tammy..I was a bit Surprised by Tyler Perry as Alex Cross - I too have read everything Patterson has written from the Violets are blue - to the Maximum Overdrive series (the Bird kids) right through the 4th of July and all the numbers sense. I'll have to see this one - thanks for the review. :o) Steve,
It was great to hear you say you liked it. Our local reviewer panned it. Chief Cook is a big fan of what dreams may come, too!
And, kudos to you for looking out for the trick or treaters, Tammy!
Ron- I never trust "professional" critics opinions. I rarely agree with them.
Steve- I love the bird kids. Just loaned that series to someone.
Hi Tammy,
Glad to see that you wrote this review. I am a huge fan of action adventure thrillers, and I was a little skeptical about seeing this one because of how I relate to the Tyler Perry Madea character. I am glad to see that Tyler is expanding his character range. And I just have to remember that he is an actor.
As far as reading the book and seeing the movie I had that experience of the strange difference between the two genres when I read 'The Color Purple' and went to see the movie. Slight differences than made both the book and movie desirable.
So now I HAVE to see Alex Cross the movie, and I may pick up the book. Thank you for your review!
Hi Tammy,
Okay it was on my list of movies to see and now I will definitely go! I too like Alex Cross and if you feel the movie is good..I'm going! Thanks for the share!!
A very cool review... Tammy! I haven't read the book, but I love Tyler Perry and this role is totally different for him. Can't wait to see the movie!
Tammy ~> Thanks for the review. We love the Alex Cross series and were reluctant to see the movie. Still might wait for the Redbox pickup??
Thank you for sharing your experience - I had wanted to see it because I like Alex Cross books too! You have me so excited, I think we will go tonight!
Tammy...
Oh great, am I the only person in the world that has no idea what we are talking about? I need to get out more.
Jordon- Never a hint of the madea character and I kept looking for it.
Dorie- I had to check my ideas of Alex and Morgan Freeman at the door, but I really enjoyed it.
Mel- very different
Frank and Karen- I do that a lot these days only my "redbox" is netflix
Joy- I'll have to find out what YOU think
Richard- you better start taking the wife to the movies.
Wow...Richard has spent all his free hours in the Smokies and now pop culture is foreign lol. I've got to go see it and am glad to hear your opinion. Tyler Perry seemed like too much of a clown for this character but my mind is wide open.
Mona- a very few times I saw "Tyler Perry" for a fleeting second, but I realized I was looking for him, so I sat back to enjoy the movie. Let me know what you think when you see it.
