If I was not in the industry of Real Estate, and I came to the decision of selling my Redding, CA home, there are specific things I would be looking for in hiring a Real Estate Professional. Being in the industry and establishing a reputable career in this business has taken a lot of work but it has reinforced the importance of hiring a professional with certain characteristics that are essential in this business.

Without getting too technical, let me provide you with a quick list of those things to look for when choosing a firm and/or professional to sell your home:

* Results:  There are hundreds of real estate agents in Shasta County and only a few that actually produce results. Results is ultimately what you should expect. Will the agent be competent, skilled and able to do what it takes to SELL your house? A true real estate professional will show you their track record and give you a list of homes they have actually SOLD.  It may take patience on your part given the state of the market in our area, but with the right marketing tools in place and a well priced home, you can expect results.

* Service:  I have talked to past clients and other home owners about their dissatisfaction of working with a part-time real estate agent. We are firm believers that in order to obtain results, a real estate professional must be in this career full-time. This is not to say that you can't have results if you hire a part-time agent, but it is to say that the distraction of their "other job" could affect their ability to sell your house.

* Competence: If you've hired the right real estate professional who has effectively marketed your home, you can expect this person to be competent in managing all the details of the selling transaction. Assuming you now have an accepted offer and your agent has opened escrow, the tasks of "managing" the sell is another essential element you should look for in a professional. Keeping the sale together, ensuring all the necessary disclosures and forms are in place and accurately completed, and representing you by personally showing up to all inspections, meetings and finally the signing (closing of escrow).  There is no perfect sale, problems may occur either from the buyer or issues with the home inspections. Putting fires out and carrying through the sale and knowing HOW to take action when these issues arise, is how a professional will distinguish himself and show you their level of competency. In a nutshell, it's about bringing past experience, skills and ability to use good judgement all together to achieve results!

We are proud to be associated with a reputable real estate firm. Real Estate Professionals, GMAC is known and recognized for producing results. We continue to rise to the top thanks to our unique Marketing Plan, Experience, Service and Competence.
