The Town of Carefree Arizona is a quiet, yet vibrant, town located on the north side of the Phoenix Valley. It is well-known for being home to the acclaimed Boulders Resort and Spa, but Carefree offers so much more. There are excellent dining, shopping, sport and entertainment options.
The town center of Carefree definitely worth a visit. Designed in a circular fashion, the centerpiece is the Sundial. Around that, is an open area that is home to the Carefree Art and Wine Festival, the Carefree Farmers' Market and many seasonal events. There are ample dining and shopping options as well. The Carefree post office is also located in the town center.
2012 CAREFREE REAL ESTATE REPORT
Here is a quick look at the homes on the market as of October 11th as well as pending sales as of the same date. As you can see, the average asking price of homes for sale in Carefree is just over $1 million. That includes lower-priced patio homes closer to the town center up to multi-million dollar estates.
CAREFREE HOME SALES THROUGH Q3 2012
Home sales trends in Carefree for 2012 are a little different than we have been seeing in other parts of the Valley. In these other areas, we saw a spike in sales activity in Q2 as well as average price per square foot increasing as the year carried on. We also saw cumulative days on market shrink over the three quarters.
In the case of Carefree, we did not see these same trends. Sales did spike in Q2, but seemed to hold on a bit for Q3. Average sales price has remained rather consistent, but price per square foot decreased in Q3. Average days on market increased, which is not what we have been typically seeing in the Scottsdale and Phoenix region.
Carefree, Arizona is one of the most charming towns in the Phoenix Valley. The laidback, elegant desert lifestyle makes it a top place to live.
