OR IT CAN BECOME A PROBLEM ALL AROUND.
This is the second time during the past week that I have found inaccurate or not updated information about agents on the Department of Real Estate website.
On one that I came across yesterday, neither the broker nor the agent had made the update. What that means is that the AGENT IS NBA, which means, in a non working status:
The licensee may not perform acts for which a real estate license is required in California. Salesperson reference for NBA is equivalent to 'No Broker Affiliation' and the broker/corporation reference to NBA is equivalent to 'No Business (current main office) Address'.
When you have listings, the owners may not even know that you are not allowed to service that listing!!!!
And all because you haven't gone into the DRE website and made that change - instantly.
PS. Please see what happened to me yesterday where this became an issue and I was scrambling to find information for my buyer.
