5 Comments on New Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Guidelines for Short Sale Processing
I happy to see more effort being given to Short Sales, and less on Modification. I feel that the house market has had these problem for too long and the modification is only a band aid. The true fix is a foreclosure or short sale, to clear out the current trouble mortgages and start fresh. Sorry for the harsh actions but that what our industry needs to get out of the cycles that has lasted for 5 years.

Well anything that can help speed up the short sale process even a little has to be a good thing. I remain skeptical until I see that it really does make a difference. Time will tell, but I'm sure glad they are making some efforts. The relocation assistance is a tremendous help to those that qualify.

Melissa we have been hearing this same line of BS for the past three years! Do you really think this announcement is any different than the ones we have already heard?
Melissa - Guidelines to expedite the short sale process are great, but as usual I'm curious if it will make a difference.
Bill: I hear you. All I do here is report the news. If you want my 'real' opinion, you'll have to give me a call.
