Client Appreciation the Maryland Way

My clients become almost like family throughout the home purchase process and maintaining those relationships has always been my business philosophy.  

This year I decided to have our first annual "McIntire Team Family Reunion" - a special crab feast at Ship's Cafe in Catonsville!  We invited all the families who purchased a house with The McIntire Team during the last 12 months as an introduction to how much I will be keeping in touch with them even though they may not be moving for many years to come. 

How to set the scene?  We started by mailing a boxed invitation which included a crab mallet engraved with my business logo nestled in red crinkle paper (I love red and used it throughout the event.)  It was an eye catcher and made people feel like they were getting a special gift in the mail!  Out of 33 invitations sent - more than 20 of the families responded that they would attend, so it was going to be a great mix of young couples, single home owners and families with young kids.

I wanted everyone to go home with a meaningful gift so we used a great local Catonsville business "EmbroidMe" to do bright red chef's aprons.  They embroidered each apron with a gorgeous Maryland Blue Crab and the name of each family along with "The McIntire Team Family Reunion" and the date of the event.  They turned out great and I hope it will be a bit of a conversation starter when they are used at home.

 
I was excited to use several local businesses for the event including handmade chocolate crabs from Ken's Old Fashioned Candy Shop right here in Catonsville. We found the crab mallets at the awesome Bay Imprint on Maryland's Eastern Shore.  They made them and shipped them on the same day - how is that for customer service!

The day of the crab feast at the Ships Cafe was perfect - a cool, sunny fall day!  We had a private room with windows all around that were opened to the breeze. The tables were all set for a great crab feast, Family Style. The standard Maryland decoration of brown paper, crab mallets and knives- all the tools that you need.

It was fun to greet people I hadn't seen for a while and some buyers who had settled on their new Maryland home recently too. Just over 50 people were in attendance and made friends very quickly with other clients at the same table.

The crabs were heavy and the food plentiful- the entire event lasted almost 3 hours. Some of my buyers who have relocated from out of State were trying  crabs and Old Bay for the first time. Marylanders were helping and educating the struggling few. Everyone left full.

We really enjoyed planning the crab feast and we are going to add it to the McIntire Team calendar of events. It's a great way to convey to my clients who have trusted me in the purchase of a new home as their Maryland Buyers Agent that I appreciate their business and that our relationship has just begun.   A win win!
