Hurricane Sandy - Are You Prepared?

By

Predictions about the path of Hurricane Sandy are everywhere on the news today. Have you checked your pantry to see if you’re prepared? Most people do not have the enough supplies to weather 3 days without power – I’m guilty of this too. Take a few minutes today to see which items you need. These are some things things we should always have on hand!

Bottled water - One gallon per person, per day. You should replace your supply every six months.

Batteries for Flashlights - NEVER use candles, the fire risk is too great.

Non Perishable Food

Extra Blankets

Copies of your homeowner’s insurance policy and phone numbers

A Fire Extinguisher

This is nowhere near a comprehensive list of emergency supplies. FEMA has a fantastic list to help you build your Emergency Preparedness Kit, check it out here.

Hopefully we’ll avoid the worst of this storm. Be safe out there!
