So, you're looking for a library to visit, eh? Well, if you find me in the library it will def. be in the children's section. There's just something about those pop-up books that make my inner child smile. But, YES, there is more than just pop-up books. The East Baton Rouge Parish library has so much to offer. What I find interesting about this library, from research, is that they are really up to date on today's technology.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Library has numerous locations. I, for one, assumed that this library was only one of a kind. After I did more research I learned that they were connected to libraries all over the Baton Rouge area, besides the main library. Want to know a little history about the main library? Oh, I'm sure you do!

The main library opened in 1967. Holy Moses, that was a long time ago. It's noted that they expanded in 1975. So, how big is this library? 65,000 square feet on two floors, try that on for size! :) The "Main Library" serves as headquarters for all of East Baton Rouge Parish major divisions.

Wanna know something really neat? This library provides interlibrary Loan services as well as Outreach services to nursing homes, assisted living and retirement homes. Now, you can't beat that with a stick! There are over one-half million items in the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library! I wonder if that includes the pop-up books! How can they have room for conference room space for 25 people and an an auditorium that sits 75 people with one-half million items? This must be the library of all libraries!

I would be bragging if I went on to talk about all the events they offer and so forth. Aw, what the heck- do you mind me bragging? They are always holding programs and events at Baton Rouge Parish library. I must mention my favorite "Story Time". Ah, this brings back a nostalgia feelings. What is a library without a story time? Besides that, they also offer free computer classes. So, all of you that are nervous about the internet, get on board and get a freebie! Everyone loves freebies! They also have certain exhibits through out the month, so it's important to check out their calendar every so often so you don't miss out!

Need information? No problem! Just go to their reference link!

There website is filled with great information that I am really glad I stumbled on. I will def. be going back to learn more about the library and Baton Rouge!
