I Turned a Wrong Number into a Sold Listing. I am a big believer in E-signatures and after you read my story you will understand why.
It was after dinner one night that I got a call from overseas. The caller thought he had a property management department of a real estate company.
After I explained that I was a real estate agent, the caller began to tell me about his need. He had a house in Clarksville, TN that had been rented and now the tenant had vacated and a friend was holding the key and their Power of Attorney to handle the rental paperwork.
I explained that I did not manage properties but would be glad to assist and look at it to determine its rentability. I contacted the friend with the key and made arrangements to get it and see the house the next day.
When viewing the house I found it to be in great condition with lots of upgrades. My thoughts went to why don’t they sell it. Later that night I called back to say the house looked good but I thought it was in very good condition, that selling would be a better option. They told me that they had tried to sell several years ago with no success but if I thought it would sell now, that would be their wish. That was easy so onto getting them nailed down on paper as the expression goes.
Now the problem was these new sellers of mine were halfway around the world in Korea. No problem, I had Authentisign my E-signature service. I told them I would prepare documents for the listing and email them for their E-signatures and we could get started on selling their property. I was able to prepare all the documents that night and email them through Authentisign. They received them and returned them signed the next day through Authentisign. The listing went in the computer immediately.
In less than two days I had turned a wrong number into a listing before the sellers could change their minds to put it up for a rent. Now the really good part. The house sold in less than two weeks and I was able to get all acceptances back to the buyer’s agent within a few hours.
Closing was not a problem either because the title company emailed a Power of Attorney for selling the home naming the friend in town to sign closing docs. They sent the original back while the loan was being processed and we closed a little ahead of schedule.
It had been only a little over a month since I had received that wrong number. I Turned a Wrong Number into a Sold Listing with the help of my E-signature service.
