Have you seen your thumbnail photo online next to the title of a blog post?  Your eyes go right to it.  Yes, I claimed authorship to my site.  Is that important?   It probably is to many bloggers.  To me, the fact that a photo is visible and it catches the attention of whoever is searching is worth a bundle.

I’ve been told that the process of creating Google authorship is simple.  To me, the word “simple” means picking up the phone and dialing a "techie person" to accomplish this “simple” task.  That’s simple!!!  It’s not only “simple” it’s one less thing for me to devote hours trying to figure out.

If you haven’t seen your photo next to the title of your post, you know that whoever has a photo on that page will be getting the phone call from that potential client before you!!!!   That’s pretty simple to understand!!

I still consider myself technology challenged, but I sure do know how to use the phone to call a techie person.  I also know that I want my photo on the SERP so my phone will be the one to ring before that of others.  It's "simple" to understand, and it all makes sense to me.  How about you?  Thanks, Bill Gassett!!!

I went thru Bob Strwarts training on Google Authorship. In a way it was simple - like attaching it to Active Rain was simple, but I find it completely frustrating to add it to Market leader. Does anyone have any advice for that platform? Please advise. Shanna

Barbara you are correct that it is huge to have your photo come up in the search results. Not only from a visual perspective but from an seo perspective as well.

I agree with you about the photo, I think it really helps with identifying. Makes it more real for the consumer. And, it was super easy to set up.

Good idea. I think I have this done for Active Rain, but would like some of that other "stuff" on my websites as well. You just woke me up - maybe I know someone I can hire...

Marte....an important lesson is that what YOU own comes first.... we all love ActiveRain, but you don't have control of activerain.... they could disappear and so will your posts.... websites first, then activerain.

I found out how to accomplish this thanks to Activerain. Could I do this on my own again for a 1,000,000 dollar prize? Not a chance.

Barbara, that is the added benefit of ActiveRain. Someone hits up the thought and the phone call to techie gets made. Got to love it

I claimed my authorship but there was a bit of delay before I got the official google seal of approval.  But it is well worth it!
