GET READY, GET SET, SPIT!!!

I watched that game. It was a real nail biter. lENN

I admit I chuckled throughout the game as I do most baseball games.

Professional baseball players are the most tic affected, group of men on earth.

For one thing, they must lose a couple of pounds during every game due to the compulsive spitting.

Another thing, how many time can a batter release and tighten the Velcro fasteners on his gloves.

I understand the need to establish and execute a routine during a pitch, an at bat, etc. I have the same need when shooting trap birds. The same stance, the same gun mount, the same point, the same call, etc.

However, I've never seen a trap shooter that has to spit several times before calling for a bird.

Funny what we watch in a baseball game.

Giants Sweep the World Series

What a nail biter. I for one don’t need the stress (LOL)

Bottom of the 9^th score was tied 3-3.

Top of the 10^th – base hit for the Giants!

Next at bat: sacrifice bunt.

Next at bat: base hit – run scored.

San Francisco Giants 4 – Detroit Tigers 3!

Bottom of the 10^th - Detroit to bat … three strike outs.

Whew!

I am stressed out and glad the game is over.

I hear fireworks going off in my San Jose neighborhood. The Bay Area is celebrating the second World Series win for the San Francisco Giants in three years!

MVP trophy awarded to Pablo Sandoval – Age 26 … was given the keys to a new Corvette convertible! Like he can’t afford to buy one on his own (LOL)!

Lenn, There's definitely a routine that can't be broken for most of these guys. The Giants sweeping the Tigers is quite the surprise, and they came close to getting eliminated along the way, but the other teams just couldn't finish them off.

Liz and Bill. I understand their "routine" completely. We all have the same need with some tasks. I know I do. I have a "routine" when working out at the gym. I have a "routine" when shooting trap birds.

All in all, it's a matter of skill development and comfort.

This series reminded me of the pitching duels of the sixties and I no longer cam sit through a whole game because of the batting gloves and the football gear they wear now!

Raymond. Normally, I'd agree about the football gear. However, one of the catchers was hit in the back of the head with a bat last evening. Without that "football style helmet", he could have been seriously injured.

All in all, the game is so exciting, I don't notice the "gear" they wear for safety.

Lenn, Thanks for the re-blog. What you say is so true and so funny. On the playing field or in a locker room may also be the only place you will see so many men patting another man's bottom ... and hugging publicly. I honestly do not get the spitting ... I just don't.

Kathleen. It makes me laugh out loud. Some of the chew bubble gum, some chewing gum. Who knows what else but they are funny.
