Garden Spider

Motivational Monday

On this Motivational Monday this beautiful Garden Spider made me stop and think just how hard this spider has to work to survive.  We often times complain about what we do for a living or how hard we must work to put a roof over our heads, feed the family, bring in the necessary income.  In reality we may not have it nearly as hard as the average Garden Spider.

Agreed, we probably don't have it as hard as the average garden spider. That's an amazing photo by the way! I must confess, and I'm loving the comments with spider pictures, I used to smack them when I found them in the house... now I capture, say a little prayer, and toss them outside. What can I say:O) ?

Hi John, Thank you for the recent re-blog, that was so nice of you to feature me. Much appreciated. This spider is really beautiful and you really did a great job capturing it. You are right about the work ethic. And I am quite certain they don't have a point at which they can retire, LOL. It does tickle the fancy to think they might have retirement homes where they just sit around and watch the Sun come up,:-)

My wife doesn't care how hard the work, she doesn't want to see them or I get to hear the scream from a mile away.

What I am reminded of when I watch spiders weave their intricate webs, are how creative they are.  That web is his home, his fishing net, and his room with a view.  And he has it all without a mortgage payment or taxes:-)

That is a beauty, John. I love to watch them in their webs especially when they are enlarging it.

John, that is a great picture, and what a great analogy.  I have an ongoing battle with a few spiders around my office door.  I don't know why they picked my door, but for some reason we meet up every morning, I remove their web and then the next morning it's there again.  They are a determined bunch.  How much more should we be determined?

Hi John,  Great capture.  I'll resist the temptation to draw the parallels between your spidy and the farming systems we all use !

You are so right. I lecture my kids on this all the time. The other day Ben complained that he has to go from school to wrestling practice then home to do homework without a break. I mentioned how at least he wasn't carrying 50 pounds of sugar cane in 90 degrees and humidity for 12+ hours as kids his age in Brazil do. Great photo, too!
