Last minute apple picking at Larriland Farm

Yesterday, when the air was crisp, the sky 'just' gray and Sandy still quite a distance away we seized the moment and went to Larriland Farm in Woodbine, MD for some last minute apple picking. Who knows how many apples Sandy will leave on the trees ...

We are still able to store all the apples we picked in the fridge (said to make them last up to 4 weeks). Once the power is out we'll have plenty to munch on at least.

I hope Sandy will calm down and the damage won't be as bad as feared.

Larriland Farm is closed but will reopen once the storm has passed and water drained. Check Larriland's website for more information.

Let it Rain!

Those are great pictures, I especially like the middle one.  I just had an apple, a new kind...jazzy or something.  Yum!

Hope you guys are safe and keeping your power.  I love fresh picked crisp apples.  My parents were recently up in North Carolina and brought some fresh picked ones.  In fact,I think I might have to have one now.

Andrea, our trees are all done and even if they were...the windstorm would have finished them off.

Andrea, So glad you and family could get out and pick those remaining apples. I's would much rather see you and other families picking then Sandy destroying them. Enjoy, stay safe and keep us posted.

Hi Janis, we were afraid that Sandy wouldn't leave any apples on the trees to pick after so we seized the moment. I'm so glad we did.

Hi Silvia, natuerlich nicht! :-)

Hi Tammy, we are all safe and sound! The girls are going stir crazy but we have to wait a bit longer before we can go out again.

Hi Mona, that's what we were afraid off.. so glad we had the chance to go before the storm!

Hi John, we were, too! All is well here!
