The Hastings Ranch area in Northeast Pasadena is primarily known for its ranch style homes built in the 1950s.   Along Cliff Drive and Hastings Ranch Road you will find some garden condominiums in various complexes, originally built as apartments, from the mid 1950s to the early 1960s.   If you are a fan of mid-twentieth century architecture, this might be just the right place for you.   The condos in this area are generally two bedrooms with fireplaces and a balcony or patio in classic garden courtyard settings with carport parking.  


In addition to the architectural appeal of the neighborhood, the Hastings Ranch area has become quite the hub of activity with abundant shopping, dining and entertainment options.  You will find Nordstrom Rack, Best Buy, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, 300 Bowling, Panera Bread, Stonefire Grill and so many more.  Located just north of the 210/Foothill Freeway and convenient to the Gold Line station at Sierra Madre Villa.

There are two condominiums currently available for sale as of October 29, 2012.   They are both in the same complex and both are two bedrooms, two baths on the second floor of a two story building with approximately 1234 square feet.  A fixer with a  balcony and fireplace is priced at $297,500 and a second unit is priced at $319,000(originally priced at $349,000).   In 2012 year-to-date, there have been seven sales in the area according to our local multiple listing service.   The closed sales range in price from $299,000 to $380,000 with an average sales price of $335,071(median price $335,000) with an average price per square foot of $294.92.

In 2011, there were only two sales, both at $270,000.

The mid-twentieth century architecture / retro style seems to be making another return and is highly desired. Sounds like the Hastings Ranch Condo's fit that bill and what a great location for easy shopping and dining.

The eastern portion of the city of Pasadena where Hastings Ranch is located has really evolved over the last few years with the addition of new shopping outlets, restaurants and the Gold Line station at Sierra Madre Villa.  In addition A Noise Within - a theatre with a focus on the classics moved to its new home not far from the  Hastings Ranch neighborhood.
