Than, like most photographers I do not post photos straight from my camera. Reason being, they seldom look good. I shot this in color and converted it to black and white.

I do not own Photoshop...so.... no I did not paint in the light rays.

One of the masters of photography who the public thinks was a purist...Ansel Adams...said: The image is the musical score. How you process it is the performance."

The old film masters slaved with chemicals in the darkroom to create the look they presented. What you shoot, how you shoot and how you process all fits together to create "your" art no?

Steve, the wind was just too great for me to take pictures of the windes & waves yesterday with Hurricane Sandy...it was amazing the debris coming by my house  & others...it is as calm as could be this afternoon...great shot!

Wondering because the tree looked 'fuzzy'. I don't play around with the effect. Probably should, but I guess I would be considered a 'purist'. I like my photos to look natural. But I am glad others are willing to experiment.
