The American Windsurfing Tour has hit Maui with this years tour event, Maui Makani at Hookipa Beach Park. There was no lack of wind, talent and good surf. Maui draws a large crowd of people from all the island and people who fly in just for the windsurfing event. For me its right down the street and my home surf spot.
I windsurf at Kanaha Beach Park, but I will leave windsurfing Hookipa to the pros for now. Anyway it was a hugh success to the delight of visitors and competitor's alike. Winning the mens final was Keving Pritchard. He had a tough heat beating out young blood and taking the win.
