Wordless Wednesday: Shrimp Boat Heading out to Sea in Rough Weather

By
Real Estate Agent with Oikos Realty, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach Florida

A shrimp boat heading out to sea in rough weather circa 1992 taken with my old Minolta 35mm film camera. The cruise terminals were not even built yet and I could buy a big paper bag full of rock shrimp for $20. It reminds me of the weather we just had as a result of Hurricane Sandy which narrowly missed Florida. My heart goes out to everyone in the Northeast affected by this super storm.

Shrimp Boat Heading out to Sea

Pelicans hudding together from the wind. These shrimp boats are esentially gone from the Port now as it transitioned into a tourist and cruise destination with an emphasis on events and entertainment.

Hey John,

I had an old Minolta 35mm film camera too. Your reference made me look them up on Google to see what happened. Looks like they went out of the photo business in 2006. Too bad, they made a great camera.

I had a little Minolta, but it wasn't a 35mm.  It was one of those 1970s era flat long looking cameras.  I probably still have it tucked away.  I should dig it out and take a picture of it.

John, Great pictures! My heart goes out to them as well. We were in Tampa but left on Friday afternoon and never saw even a hint of Sandy then!
