My Aveda Institute Teaching School Hair Disaster & How It Was Remedied REBLOG for CONSUMER WARNING!
I am just going to help out my friend Barbara Jo with a little warning about Aveda Institute Teaching School and the aweful job and then aweful customer service they performed for her.

This is a tale of my Aveda Institute School hair disaster and how it was remedied.
Yesterday I drove down to the Aveda Institute Teaching School in St Petersburg Florida for a color correction. I had been doing my own hair for years and wanted to go lighter and have the black removed from the ends since four years ago it was black and has been various dark brown shades since then.
An instructor is supposed to be watching what the trainees do the entire time, so I do NOT blame the two young trainees since they asked for an instructor's advice every step of the way.
After they took all of the color out of my hair, I ended up with a real carrot top! I expected that color and said from the beginning that I wanted a light brown color with some red in it when they were finished. An
instructor gave the kids the formula for the dye they used, so that is the person responsible.
It turned out horrible, not only dark dark brown, but with places of reddish in it. I said I was not pleased but was told by the instructor that they could not get it any lighter. She said that they could not get it any lighter than that and her attitude was basically take it or leave it. Needless to say, I will never go back there nor will I ever recommend Aveda's Teaching School to anybody!
On my way home, I was ready to cry! I did not want to go home and have Ronnie see this mess nor did I want anybody else to see it! My daughter went to JC Penney's Salon last time and they did a beautiful job, so I called as I drove and asked if I could stop by for advice. I had been at Aveda for well over four hours and it was now around 3 pm.
Karen at JC Penney's looked at my hair and said she could fix it. I stayed and she was able to correct the color with a color wash and then she made it this beautiful ginger color! I am so pleased that I have already made my next appointment to go back and have her do my touch-up in a month.
As for Aveda, I called back to speak to an instructor and was told that somebody would call me. I said I wanted to let them know how unhappy I was with the work they did. When Karen started going through my hair before washing it, she showed me in the mirror how I had large chunks of copper red hair underneath the dark layers........I was tri-colored! It was horrible and it is the instructor that I blame for that mess!
By the way, they never bothered to call me back either!
