When you’re moving across the country there’s already a lot of money, time, and stress involved. Making sure you have a car once you get to your destination can be another hefty burden to take on when moving, but if you choose to ship your car you could eliminate the frustration altogether.

The only alternatives to shipping your car are driving your car, or selling it and buying a new one at your final destination. These options are both ones that are more expensive, not only in a monetary sense, but they will also cost you more in time and stress as well.

Driving your car may seem cheaper initially but the amount of money spent on fuel, food, lodging and missed days of work will add up quickly. Since driving your car takes so much more time you will have to spend more money on eating out and a place to sleep. You will also have to take off more time from work since it is going to take you much longer to travel.
Consider Mileage
When you drive your car across the country you are also putting thousands of miles onto it. This may add stress to your trip if you are worried about putting that kind of wear and tear on your vehicle. When you ship your car, all of this time and stress is eliminated.
Is Selling an Option?
Selling your car and buying another one once you arrive to your destination may not only seem easier, but less expensive. Again, when you’re dealing with so many other stresses of moving this may be more trouble than it’s worth. The main stress involved with selling your car is you’re going to need a car up until the time you leave, and also immediately after. It may be incredibly difficult to sell your car right before you move, because if you sell it any sooner you will to find alternatives to work such as taking the bus, or renting a car, which will cost you money.
