Greetings Eco-All Stars!

I have taken on a huge undertaking to build a Green Housing website that is an information site for homeowners to use and go green in their home and everyday lives - from remodeling to recycling to energy conservation and even baby diapers =)  While at times, I do focus on what is available in San Diego, I intend the site to be useful to anyone.

I am hoping that you will take a moment to look at my rough draft / outline and give me some feedback on things that are there and things that are not, but should be. Some pages have a full rough draft, but many pages are just topic headers.

Click the link below to view the site:

Green Housing website

In the future, I will have another site built with a list of Green homes for sale in San Diego as well as links to other green listings sites across the country. That is not done yet, but if you are a Realtor and would like to be a part of either marketing green homes on this site, or receiving updates on green homes in Southern California, please contact me.

thanks!

Thanks, janeAnne. I'll start posting some of the articles I write as I finish the pages and the site. It's a lot of time to do all the research, writing and web work!

Great job, Adam.  I'm preparing an e-card for my clients with "green tips for homeowners".  I'm so pleased to some of my tips are listed on your site!  It seems you have put a lot of work into your project.  The more of us that are out there promoting the care of OUR environment, the better.

Adam, Very nice site, great topics, I would like to see "the cost of our food" It could incorporate the Beef issue and things like the fact that if all farming was organic and no petrochemicals were used the price of food could be more than halved. Thats right the chemicals are more expensive than organic farming! Perhaps some talk of the damage that war focused economies do to the world?

Great Job, If you would like to use any of my stuff, or want me to tweak any of it to better fit your site, just say so.

Michael & Dave: Thanks for the comments - I have saved your info and will be in touch regarding future sharing of articles, blogs & info between us and our sites.

I did receive a comment, from a vegetarian friend no less, that my cost of meat page might be too much of a tangent from green housing and serve to distance myself as appearing a little too on the radical side...i may be redoing that page as a "you are what you eat" page and including the cost of meat info as a sub-topic. We'll see...

    Dear "natural homes".

Regarding your site, I would recommend a few things:

    1. Buy a domain name (i.e. naturalhomes.com) so that you don't have to use geocities. Geocities is great for free personal pages, but for a business site, it will make your company appear amateur, which will likely be counterproductive for your business.

    2. Include good content about the homes you make, why you make them & how. Explain why someone should want to have one of your homes built. Include lots of pictures.

    3. Explain the benefits of your homes to the individual's health, economic bottom-line, and the environment as a whole.

    4. Have some type of way to generate leads or at least make your contact info readily available on most pages.

    5. Network with other like businesses and link with them on the web. This will increase your traffic, referral business and can also raise search engine rankings.

And, finally, if you don't know where to start, hire or talk to someone trusted that does.
