New Shopping Center Now Open In Carolina Forest Of Myrtle Beach, SC

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Southern Shores

Forest Crossing is the newest shopping center in the ever popular Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach, SC. The shopping center is the first shopping center to open at the International Drive end of Carolina Forest, only a minute or two away from Highway 31. The architectural theme of the shopping plaza is Charleston style, which matches perfectly some of the high end shops tenants that will make up the plaza. Forest Crossing should be welcomed generously by the neighborhoods at the back end of Carolina Forest. This will keep them from having to travel to the front end of Carolina Forest or downtown Myrtle Beach for everything.

Some expected tenants for Forest Crossing include (not all inclusive):
Executive Pet Company- Already Open
Bogey Spirits- Already Open
Tavern In The Forest
Aruba Tan
Villa Mare Restaurant
Sonny Cleaners
A coffee shop
A bagel shop
A convenience store

Again, this new shopping center should prove to be very convenient and beneficial to residents of Black Creek Plantation, BelleGrove, The Farm at Carolina Forest, The Bluffs On The Waterway, The Battery On The Waterway, Waterway Palms Plantation, Carolina Waterway Plantation, and all of the other Carolina Forest neighborhoods in Myrtle Beach.

I think that Tavern in the Forest is a refreshing dining spot.  Great freshly prepared food and a nice variety to choose from.  I was impressed that everything was made in house and not pre-packaged like lots of chain restaurants.  I am shocked that others have said that it is overpriced and wonder what they are comparing it to. I recently went to Gordon Biersch in Market Common and THAT WAS OVERPRICED!!!!  Tavern in the Forest is a great value with friendly service.  I recommend giving it a try, especially the Sunday Brunch!

I made another visit to Tavern in the Forest this week and what a difference.  I won't be going back after that expereince.  The food was sub-far and the service was atrocious!

I heard that there was a change in ownership and they are turning it into a bar.  What a disappointment, as Carolina Forest really needed a restaurant like the old one I went to in the months past.

Went to the "Tavern in the Forest"evening of 10/24/08,Entertainment[female vocalist] mediocre, decent place although I think it was a little on the pricey side. The food we had was good, however it wouldn't be my first choice locally. Lastly, a little to far off the beaten path, seems like it takes forever to get back to 501.Probably the only choice of people living in immediate and local developments.

Easy to get to from 501 if you take 31 and get off at International.

There are some things on the menu that I don't really find worth the money.  The spinach queso dip isn't anything you can't get from Sam's.  The crab dip could use more lump crab, and I would avoid the onion soup.  But I do like the chili, and the meat loaf is a wonderful deal.  It comes with soup, so I take the chili home for lunch the next day.  I easily can halve the meat loaf dinner, too.  I love the wings - mild is still pretty healthy - and I like the Maryland style shrimp.  I can always find something to enjoy.

Grab a coupon out of the Carolina Forest Chronical (which often is for a two fer) and give it a go!

Tavern in the Forest is great.  The food is good and the atmosphere is fun and refreshing.  You can choose to sit inside or outside.  They always have some sort of activity or promotion going on.  The staff is very friendly and they celebrate St. Patty's Day every month on the 17th so if you like corned beef, theirs is amazing!
