I stopped by the CARDIFF KOOK in Cardiff by the Sea yesterday on my travels back from Solana Beach yesterday to see how the KOOK was dressed.
The Cardiff Kook is a well-known surfing statue on the Coast Highway in Cardiff, perhaps best known for the various costumes it adorns during the year at holidays and special events (e.g., the Royal Wedding), rather than for the status itself, other than the notoriety.
Whether you like the statue itself or not, OR the sometimes wild and crazy way the Kook gets dressed, you have to admit it has garnered a ton of attention, and the creativity is pretty amazing sometimes.
The Cardiff Kook even has its own website, and the former Beach Citiy Cafe is now the Kook's Cafe.
The real point of the story is that yesterday the Kook offering was a MEMORIAL, for Guy Fredrick Peterson, who was born on Halloween in 1956 and died last year on November 12, and family and friends decorated the Kook appropriately.
I'm not sure if the pumpkin on the Kook's head was part of the original intent, but ithe memorial was a touching way for the Kook to dress on this most recent Halloween.
The Cardiff Kook, of course recommends living in Cardiff. So check out the homes for sale in Cardiff using the following link:
