When I joined AR in April of 2007 I had no idea what this community was all about or where it would carry me.
I stumbled upon the site while looking for ways to increase my internet presence. I knew just enough to know that the internet was the next big wave in real estate marketing and that I wanted and needed to be a part of it.
If I had known then how much time and energy would be required of me to learn the art of blogging and connecting with consumers via the internet, I am not sure I would have signed on. LOL!
How has my business benefited from the time I have spent on AR.

I have received and given referrals via ActiveRain
My marketing skills have improved
What I have accomplished and learned is a testiment to the giving and sharing spirit of this community. ActiveRain members have shared their knowledge, expertise, friendship and hearts.

My horizons have expanded--members have invited me along on tours of their communities, towns and states teaching me about their area, its resources and people.
ActiveRain has challenged me to push beyond my comfort zone in writing and learning new technological techniques and methods which has given me a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

I start many a sentence with "my friends on AR said this about, yada, yada, bla, bla, and so on....." I thank AR for the friends that I have met here! I thank you for your kind words! It has dawned on me that this is a true "Two fer", I'll explain, I came to learn, and SEO, blog (a little), promote my area on Localism, and what started out as an internet marketing idea, has become a wonderful place for friendships. Cynthia, great post and wonderful tributes to your friends on AR. I think April is when I first started getting "with it" on AR, and you have 30,000 more points.
