While it isn’t considered the norm, there are landlords that give their tenants the opportunity to help with renovations. This could mean painting between tenants, cleaning the carpets with a cleaner that is supplied, or doing some more serious work like refinishing cabinets. Of course, tenants do need to be compensated if you plan on putting them to work, so you need to figure out the terms and determine if it’s a good idea.
