What do you love about the town your home is in? The thing I love most about Inman is that it has a Southern living feel, it’s like we're a million miles away from everything, but we're really just an hour from Asheville, 20 minutes from Spartanburg, and 40 minutes from Greenville. The city of Inman itself is an adorable town with a one-light Main Street with children's clothing boutique, salon, flower shop, quilting cottage, antique stores, and even the town's original soda fountain pharmacy! It's one of those little towns where everybody waves to everybody. People from the mechanic at the body shop to the bag boy at the grocery store remember your name. Inman's downtown hosts parades, a Summer music festival, and lots of other activities that rival those in nearby Spartanburg and Greenville with their closer proximity, ample parking, and lighter traffic!

Grocery stores I love to shop at?There is a Bi-lo grocery store located less than five miles from our house in Inman, and it's open until 11pm for those late-night ice cream runs! Spartanburg has a Publix and a Fresh Market as well, within a 30 minute drive.

My favorite restaurants around our home are?Inman's restaurant scene is growing! It includes Mexican, Italian, and American options among others. Main Street in Inman has lots of options, such as Liquid Assets Bistro. Nearby on Lake Bowen is a new addition called Bowen's Landing, all within a five-minute drive on a Friday or Saturday night with convenient and ample parking!

Key points about the property that I/we were drawn to? The first thing you'll notice when you enter the house is the view through the French doors at the back of the house. We built the house on this property because it has views to the West and the North of the Blueridge Mountain foothills. While our lot is only .7 acres, our neighbors to the north and south have over 30 acres combined, including pastures, ponds, and orchards. It's like being on a 30-acre farm but only having to mow an acre! We can sit on the back deck in the evenings and watch horses grazing in the foreground and the sun setting over the mountains in the background. It is the absolute definition of peaceful.

Why people should move to this area; why I/we were attracted? For being brand new, the house has a lot of character. We were careful to include some unique elements to make the house special. The front door was reclaimed from a local South Carolina home scheduled for demolition. It is solid oak with lead glass and is estimated to be about 150 years old. We hunted far and wide for the perfect antique reproduction door knob to go with the door's original metal hardware. There are also two European craftsman-style stained glass windows in the house that were purchased locally in Landrum. Other unique features include a reclaimed built-in antique cabinet in the guest bath, butcher block kitchen and bathroom counter tops, and a unique oak slab bar. From the 14-foot ceilings in the living room to the solid oak floors throughout, this house has a lot of grace for being so young.

Anything else you can think of to attract a potential buyer? When a chef and a baker get to design a kitchen from scratch, you know it's going to be something to see! Our kitchen is open to the living and dining areas, so it is perfect for entertaining. There is lots of counter space, a gorgeous breakfast bar that doubles as a buffet for parties, and a deep double country porcelain sink that easily doubles as a cooler for ice and drinks! Not only is there ample cabinet and drawer space, but every drawer and door is self-closing and silent, even when slammed! The kitchen is fully functional, right down to the smallest details of a pull-out garbage drawer and a magnetic knife rack right next to the stove, not to mention a large pantry within arm's reach!

What did you do for interests and hobbies near to the property? We enjoy exploring the outdoors with family and friends and the parks, fishing, and hiking options around Inman are fantastic! From nearby Lake Bowen to beautiful Milliken Park, there are plenty of ways to get outside. Also, nearby Landrum is famous for its horseback riding and antiques, as well as adorable parks and a sweet downtown with plenty of Southern charm.

What are your average utility costs? Our utility costs are great for the area! We are with Duke Energy for electric and our water bill has averaged around $170 over the past six months. We are with Inman-Campobello Water Company and have averaged a bill of $24 over the past six months.

This sounds like a very nice listing and I hope you go into contract soon. Lots of luck in a speedy and trouble free close of escrow as well.

All the best,
