I love early voting!  We are voting on so much that I loved having the ballot at home and researching some of the issues that I was less familiar with- local races for judges and stuff.

I can't wait to hear what the voters have decided.

Hi Michael,  I sent in my mail-in ballot about 2 weeks ago.  I do miss those cool stickers you get when you actually go to the polling place to vote.  I will be so glad when this is over.  Colorado has been a huge target state for the candidates.  We have had intense campaigning in person, billboards, yard signs and tv ads.  I'm done.  Now lets see who sprints ahead in this race.

Michael,

We are fortunate - other countries don't have the right to vote.

I voted a couple of weeks ago.  But, everyone is asking if I voted, so I dug out my sticker that says, "YES, I DID!"

Ki - it shall be, it shall be

Lanise - it is intriguing, isn't it although I wish the real issues were discussed

Wallace - Californians defintely have a love-hate relationship with propositions -- and we have quite the line-up on this year's ballot

Roger - I don't believe I've ever knew that your Dad ran for city council -- sounds like some good memories.  Did he win?

Beth - I'm sure everyone in the battleground states is happy to see the commercials end, the phone calls over and the door knockers leave.

Joyce - voted this morning - cast my ballot with a view of a beautiful pool on crystal clear day.

Tiffany - there are many issues across the country deciding on so many different offices and propositions -- it is an important day.   I love your post on the subject today.

Lehel - what a great experience for your daughter -- seeing Daddy doing his civic duty -- hopefully you can capture the moment and share it.

Jeffrey - so another Florida resident who is tired of the election -- ahh, if you were still in Colorado, you'd be experiencing much of the same but without that wonderful sunny weather and the beach....just sayin'.

Lynn - I took my sample ballot(completed) with me --- just in case I had a brain freeze standing in front of the machine.

Belinda - you spent more time in California than the Presidential candidates - they came to visit but only to pick up cash and checks.

Patricia - so true!

Sharon - you betcha.

Suzanne - of course, you did!

Ron - as I commented on Bryan's post - although I disagree with his position(he is choosing not to vote)I'm glad to live in a country where we can make the decision to vote or not vote.

Laura - while I hear that most of California votes by absentee ballot, I love the idea of voting on Election Day -- whether it's the Presidential Election or city council -- there's just something about it.

Michael I came from a country where voting was mandatory, funny part was you had to vote for the one designated candidate...that was communist Hungary....so I truly appreciate the privilege of voting for whomever we want as you and I discussed I just wish the choices of candidates could use some improvement!

Hi Endre - I think some of our country's naturalized citizens have a greater appreciation for the process than those of us born here.  I know the television commerical that has been widely aired with the billionaire from Hungary has been controversial but his story(taking politics out of the scenario) is definitely compelling.   We are so fortunate that we have the opportunity to achieve so much in our country.  One of the many ways to achieve greater success is through the voting process.
