Sometimes it PAYS to be CONTRARY

When it comes to selling your house, sometimes it PAYS to be contrary.

A common misconception is that houses do not sell in the winter months.  If you want to sell your home and can’t or don’t want to wait until Spring, read on.

Reasons for this are:

Less COMPETITION - Many people do not put their home on the market during the Holiday months of November and December.

What this means for you, is that there is less inventory and less competition, meaning a GREATER chance of selling your home for the price you want.  Make no mistake, home buyers DO NOT magically disappear and stop looking for homes in the winter months.  Granted there are fewer of them, which brings me to the next reason...

Buyers are SERIOUS - Home buyers going out to look at homes in the cold, or snow are SERIOUS home buyers, they are not “just looking” they WILL buy a house, and they can’t buy yours if it is not on the market.

Emotional Buyers PAY MORE!  Homes show better when decorated for the Holidays, take advantage of it!

YOU are still in the drivers seat for showings.  You maintain control of showings, and you can restrict showings,  Obviously it is in your best interest to allow showings whenever possible, but you maintain control.

You do NOT have to MOVE during the holidays.  Selling your home during the holidays does not mean you have to MOVE during the holidays.  Closing date is negotiable but is typically 30-60 days after going in contract.

The BOTTOM LINE? Bottom line is, don’t be fooled into thinking there are no buyers out there, BE CONTRARY and you just may get your home sold, and for a better price!
