Nantucket Lighthouse

We all know that buyers buy on emotion.  Whenever I stage a home for sale, I stage with emotion too.  While honoring the architecture and geography of the property, I find it helpful to conjure up an appropriate idea, place or item from nature that inspires me throughout the staging process.  It helps me select paint colors, furnishings and accessories.  I am not talking "theme-decorating" literally, but rather the feeling and mood that you want a property to evoke.

It could be a Nantucket beach retreat, a rustic farmhouse, urban lights, formal French traditional, or mediterranean escape.  Each suggests colors and, more importantly, senses that will delight buyers and maximize the saleability of the home.
