Wow I was reading Jeff Belonger's post last night about 200,000 points and I thought. Hmmm how long have I been a member now?
Well lookie lookie my first post was January 23, 2007............. One Year of Active Rain.
Let me first say, I've been selling real estate for almost half my life(you do the math). I've shared with you all that this is a family owned business and we are the largest single producing office in the State of New Jersey.. for 15 years running. We have over 100 agents and well you get the picture. Big names, Big numbers, Big producers, Big egos. With that being said.....
I've have learned more on Active Rain in one year than any where else.Truly - anywhere else.
I've attended close to 100 conferences, workshops and I've learned more from people who started as complete strangers who now I would open my home too.And I don't say that lightly.
Some of you might consider this just a social network. I challenge you that its not. If you actually read and join some groups you will find the information on this free platform priceless. Please, if your not finding good valuable information than you need to dig deeper into this platform.
Active Rain is a precious gem and a private university all rolled into one!!
I believe I have shared freely with you all in just about every aspect of real estate some of my tips I would consider invaluable. I would not do this with my "office" colleagues. Why, I am not sure. But I am sure most of you would agree with me that there is something in the "office" dynamic that prevents us from doing so.

I have been on Active Rain for almost one month now and I already feel a deep sense of gratitude. I have no doubt that more time will bring more things for which to be thankful.
Nice post Desiree....I have not been here a year, but I'm already number 6 in Illinois. It's been a blast and yes the best part for me is the new relationships that I have gotten out of AR

Dez...I'm usually a giver but here on Active Rain I find myself to be more of a taker. A strange role for me but there is so much offered it's hard to contribute more than we receive.

Dez, I agree with you totally. I've learned and grown much throughout the past months. I also believe that the more we share with others, the more we will receive..whether those we are sharing with are in our office, or halfway across the planet. Cheers to your one year anniversary!
I agree with you...this place is great! I don't know where I would be in my real estate career if I hadn't found this place. The friendships alone have been worth it. I've stopped reading the real estate books I have they don't even compare to the knowledge I have soaked up while enjoying my morning coffee. Congrats on your anniversary. I think mine comes up in March.
Dez- I would not know how to say it any better then you did. Everything you said is 200% true including how giving you are to the AR community. Our meeting in NY was another proof to me that AR somehow attracts very special people. I hear the drumbeat in the background ( love your music selection) as I say: Congratulations on your anniversary!

Hi Dez - congrats on that year!! And you are so right about all the priceless things we can learn here. I have learned far more here on AR in the year and a half I've been here than I have in several years' worth of seminars, that's for sure. What a cool place to be a part of, and just where else can one learn all kinds of terrific things??
The first thing I remember about you was/is your sense of humor. I admire that you have given a lot to this network, but still kept any "ego" in check.....(yea you've told us before how important you are ) LOL......I know many of us have been enriched one way or another by your being here.......

One year- isn't it amazing how it has changed your life? I learn so much here, both personally and professionally and I am just thrilled at the relationships that I have developed! I have been around real estate my entire life as a third generation real estate pro, yet I also have learned more here than I could have every imagined.
