The Department of Transportation and Woodstock officials have now said that the Ridgewalk Parkway exit off of Interstate 575 may open as early as next week. The contractor, C. W. Matthews is ahead of schedule and, weather permitting, will have the paving and striping done for full use by mid November. The exit was originally scheduled to open in late December. East Cherokee County residents will have a more direct route now rather than having to use the Sixes Road or Towne Lake Parkway exits.
