Veterans Day 2012 in Mesa, Arizona

The annual East Valley Veterans Parade will honor our nation’s veterans Monday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. The parade was formerly known as the Mesa Veterans Day Parade, but the Military Veterans Parade Association renamed the event last year to include and recognize participants from neighboring towns.

This year’s theme is “Honoring Our Veterans and Military, One Parade at a Time,” which celebrates all that our veterans have contributed and sacrificed for our freedom. The parade will feature more than 100 entries including military support groups, high school marching bands, east valley city and town dignitaries, Girl and Boy Scout troops and many other organizations and groups. The parade will also include military vehicles such as World War II equipment and Charlie Chopper, a Vietnam era helicopter.

More than 30,000 spectators are expected to attend and participate in the parade and festivities while approximately 1,800 will actually participate in the parade.
