The leaves may have been falling during the month of October here in western North Carolina but not real estate sales.October saw an increase in the number of home sales over the previous month and year to date, the area has seen a steady gain over the two prior years. So far this year, we're seeing a 25% increase over 2011. The average home price in October was $320,613 and homes sold for 92% of the current list price. Homes are on the market an average of 302 days.
Land sales, which have lagged behind residential sales over the last few years saw a 64% increase over 2011. Sales under $50,000 accounted for 52% of the transactions. Sales of $200,000 and more accounted for 20% of the transactions.
