created Veterans day in the early 1900's. He said the following for all Veterans we appreciate so much..."To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations."
I hope you reached out yesterday November 11th, Veteran or call or see someone who is a Veteran and thank them for all they have done and given of themselves for this country. In North Kingstown RI we are celebrating Veterans Day by a parade on Monday. In North Kingstown we are celebrating the day today November 12th. The parade participants will all gather at Wilson Park in Wickford Village at 9 a.m. The parade route will then go down West Main Street to Boston Neck Road. A stop at the monuments at Veterans Memorial Park for a wreath laying ceremony will be on the procession route. Closing ceremonies will begin around 11 a.m. at the High School.
