On Saturday I went to Orlando for the EXPO. I know that it would be great to sign for the whole convention and spend time there, but I can’t force myself to do it, so I brave only for the EXPOs every time the convention is in Orlando.
I went to a Home Show in Orlando relatively recently, and though media touted it as a comeback, it was pitiful. There were more skin care products and other stuff unrelated to anything home, that it was pathetic.
I was a bit nervous going to NAR convention, as I was afraid to see the decline. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised. The Expo was much bigger than the Home Show, and you could tell that it was REALTORs’ event, and not the skin and personal care event, even though you could still find it and massage there.
There was so much offers of websites, that I felt completely lost. I could not see any difference between all those offers, they sounded identical to me. Of course, they were all “The Best…blah, blah, blah). With so many best finding decent could be a challenge…
Out of my over 4 hours there, I made a terrific deal with a lead generation company, which provides very specific leads for condos/condo-hotels. I tried the leads recently, and was happy with the quality of them. There are new people running the sales, and I am glad they were there, so we had a very productive discussion and I walked away with a terrific deal, and they got a loyal customer.
And the second “big deal” was NAR affiliated health care program to help people with no insurance, like us, to make it until we reach Medicare (if we manage to reach it). There were also a few other interesting things, like Obeo, and I like the ability to transform the room, changing flooring, and “virtually furnishing” it.
Plus a few candies, a few pens, a few brochures…
The only surprise was that nobody tapped me on the shoulder and said “Hey buddy, I am also on Active Rain”.
