OK, so I know you Active Rain newbies (and probably some oldies alike!) have admired the AR members who have the cool gadgets on their sites. I have asked several folks for help with some of them and let me tell you EVERY one of them have been more than helpful! To all of you who have held my hand during the last two months, thanks-a-million.
I decided to explore a little something on my own and figured out how to add the slideshow to my blog post! WooHoo!
Quick and simply, here goes:
- Go to www.PhotoBucket.com
- Click on "join now"
- Complete quick form to join
- Once you've given your name and password and joined, you are free to 'roam'!
- Select the type of slideshow that you would like on the left
- Then upload your photos, label them
- Then select the option to obtain the HTML code.
When you return to AR, you have copied the code (without even clicking 'control-c') and you're ready to go!
- Select BLOG POST
- Enter your title
- Type in a little something in the body of the post to get you started if you just want to try to see if it works
- At this point, you don't need to complete the remainder of the post!
- Under VISIBILITY, select DRAFT and SAVE as you normally would.
Now, you should see your sample text. Next:
- Click EDIT
- Click on the lime green HTML button (you will get a warning that you can't go from one to the other [standard to HTML] without first saving but, you've already saved what you need to save)
- Now 'CONTROL V' or right-click your mouse and paste the HTML code that you brought from PhotoBucket.
If you're like me, you'll want to quickly see if it works--keep the visibility on DRAFT and save again--You'll see your writing with the handy-dandy slideshow from PhotoBucket! WooHoo (sorry, I know I already said that but, I am SUPER-excited about figuring this out for myself!)
No, PhotoBucket is not paying me anything for this ad! I just thought that somebody out there was wondering, as I have been, how in the world to get those cool slideshows! Here's a few of my listings that I uploaded--again, I was in a hurry to see how it worked, so it's not professional YET!
