5 Comments on MLS vs. NLS
If you don't have any listings, borrow some from fellow agents in your office. The listing agents should be happy to get the extra exposure for their listings and you can benefit by courting online buyers that are interested in the type of house you are advertising! Handshake is good, do it. I don't know the answers to the qestion about their new NLS (Don't see anything different than they already have)
Hope this helps,

Hi Alex,
Welcome to P2A. There should be no more conflict between putting your listings on the MLS and your Point 2 Agent site than any other agent site out there...which is to say, exposing your listing on your agent site to attract prospects is the name of the game. Listings on P2A sites automatically are displayed on Point 2 Homes, and can be syndicated to a wide variety of other sites (read about syndication in the Tutorials). This puts your listings on the web on multiple sites for wide exposure.
As far as what should be included? The same kind of information you would post on MLS regarding property details, Virtual Tours (non-branded) and LOTS! of photos. Tell the story of the home... This is ad copy for the public to view, though so you want to add some color to your descriptions, not make them just a dry recitation of statistics.
What you should NOT include? Your contact information in descriptions or logos or signs in photos (one of the most important aspects of P2A is the Handshake program - cooperative advertising oportunities with other agents - they will block you if you include personal information). You should also not include agent-only information, such as showing instructions, "don't let the cat Fluffy out", etc.
Make your listings (or those of other agents you know who give you permission) as appealing as possible, for the benefit of your Sellers as well of the other agents out there.
You should probably NOT display listings of other agents who have P2A websites, as that will result in duplicate listings in the system. You CAN display those listings on your site without even having to enter them by participating in the handshake system. Suggest you take Lorena's excellent Mentoring classes through Point 2 Acadamy to learn more (check your Online Office for the link).
Lots to learn...P2A sites are a great way to have a rich, interesting site to offer your prospects, even if you are primarily a Buyer's Agent!
Just get in there and play.
