Time goes by so quickly.  Fall is here!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  Then CHRISTMAS!

The end of the year! AND 2013!

Where did the time go?

I hope your 2012 was filled with lots of good memories and you took time to do the things that really mattered.

Time goes by so quickly, it can slip through our fingers if we are not careful.  Time management is the most important thing any real estate agent can practice.  Prospecting, talking with clients, busy activities and showing property, following up but not closing on the deal with eat up your time.  Make sure you CLOSE your deals.

Many agents are afraid of being too pushy.  They do not want to be  thought of like a "used car salesman".  Have you heard that before?  They show and show and show but never "CLOSE".  People sometimes need help to understand the next step and maybe they need a little encouragement.  IF you have found a house for them that meets all the criteria they are looking for, do not be afraid to ask them to sign an offer.  If they do not want to, ask them what is stopping them.  Ask questions.

Find out their objections and see if you can cure them.  Ask, or you may never know the reasons they walk away.  Then, you will have more deals that end in closed transactions.  Ask, ask, ask.

Ricki, another agent and I were talking just last week about being 'too pushy'--have been thinking of writing a blog post about it. your post inspired me to do it!   I do agree time seems to pass much faster now that I am older--sent my oldest off to college this year and in a few years, it will be just me and my husband at home.  I'm already preparing for this new lifestyle.

Ricki, yes time management is essential to a successful real estate agent, or any other business professional.  Here I am a year later and can't help but think, what can I do better for next year.  Good post :)

It's been a good year.  Surprised me how quickly it went.  Yet, I'm looking forward to 2013.  But first a nice holiday vacation.

I just did that with one of my clients and realized that she is never going to pull the trigger on buying a house...  We have been friends for over 25 years...  Time to have a heart ot heart...

With short sales that take so long it is harder than ever to create the urgency we need to get to the table fast. Thanks for this timely post and congrats on being featured! ;)

Hi Ricki, we agree.  We all need to work more on time blocking our schedule.

Boy, Ricki, you are so right!  I spent about 18 mo. on buyers starting in 2010 who made one offer then when they didn't get it more or less just gave up!  I thought about calling them again, but thought better of it. I need the mind set of closing!

Great post and I totally agree about the importance of time management. I'm getting better with managing my time and will begin my second year starting in December 2012 for the entire year of 2013. Plan your time and see how much more effective and productive you'll be; I was amazed!

My Mom told me time would fly faster the older I got. She sure was right!

Time management is something I need to work on - it's very difficult working from home and having a retired husband wandering in and out at odd times. Sometimes I wish I needed to leave and go to an office. (But I don't wish that for long!)

Dear Ricki,

If you do not close once in a while, you do not eat, so just ask. People do not mind you making a living off your profession. If you had a trust fund, you would probably be on a beach somewhere and not working this hard ....

I walked into the mall in Orlando to meet a friend for lunch after NAR.

I was confronted with what looked like a 150' Christmas Tree.  It stopped me in my tracks with such disconnect.

Honestly, I was clueless that Christmas was THAT CLOSE! Today I realized Thanksgiving is next week.

I must be working to hard to let all of this get past me.  Joy

If you don't push you don't get paid. I don't consider it pushing. I just keep things moving forward.

Hi Wayne,   Nobody likes pushing but keeping things focused and on track is most important if you want to close those deals. :)
