There is a new trend popping up; Ignore these keywords.
I was surfing the Internet looking for a good deal on a particular item. As I went through the process, I realized how much I was behaving like a potential homebuyer and I wanted to caution you against using strategies like the following incorrectly. I recommend you avoid this strategy because it can alienate you from potential cliens.
I was surprised to see some of the unusual results I got when I ran the search. I'm always interested in learning more; so I clicked on the links to see why they were Page 1 returns for me.
It was because each of the ad authors had put a paragraph following their ad that said Ignore These Keywords. I was offended. Besides, did they really think I was going to buy what they were selling when it had little or no relation to my search criteria???? Do they really think that I will believe that is HTML code to genuinely ignore these keywords?
Don't misunderstand me, if you have listed a 2 bedroom with a loft or a 2 bedroom with a den, it is probably advisable to put 3 bedrooms and three bedrooms in a keyword section. If you have a stand alone condo, it's not a bad idea to put SFR and Single Family Residence in the keywords. That way, someone looking for a 3 bedroom SFR will absolutely consider the 2 bedroom and a loft detached condo you have for sale.
This can be a smart marketing move or an easily-abused method that can bring criticism on you. That's one of the things to remember about blogging, marketing and even posting to Facebook; What message am I sending to the person that does not know me?
Are you going to make an amateurish move and list all sorts of nonsense after an Ignore These Keywords phrase or are you going to professionally market your listings?
