At HOME in North Hampton New Hampshire - right along the coast!!

North Hampton Town Seal

Settled in 1639, North Hampton was originally part of Hampton NH, becoming its own township in 1719.  When North Hampton was first settled, the population was 657, and today there are around 5,000 residents.

Students in North Hampton attend North Hampton Elementary School for grades K-8, and then attend Winnacunnet High School in Hampton for grades 9-12.  North Hampton is one of the few elementary schools in the area that offers kindergarten, which residents with young children just love.

North Hampton Coastal Shot - Ann Cummings Copyright 1/2007North Hampton is located right on the coast of NH, with great scenery along the Atlantic Ocean!  Our coast in New Hampshire is the "smallest in America", and North Hampton is one of the towns that make up the coastline here.  Beaches, fishing, boating, kayaking - all await you here in the coastal areas!

One of the most peaceful drives you'll ever take is along our Route 1-A that snuggles right along the coastline.  You'll see magnificient old Victorian summer homes, beautiful rocky New England coastline, soft sand beaches here and there, ships and tankers off in the distance, and so much more.  It's just one of my favorite drives to take .... you'll love it, too, I guarantee it!

Our coastline here in New Hampshire is simply gorgeous!!

North Hampton is home to Sagamore Hampton Golf Course, a public golf course open to all who want to enjoy their scenic course.  Sagamore Hampton is an 18 hole par 71 course, located just a mile from the center of town.  There's plenty of great golfing the area, all within minutes of North Hampton, too.  There are 2 18-holes courses in neighboring Rye, both private - Abenaqui Country Club and Wentworth-by-the-Sea.  Greenland offers 3 courses, 2 are 18 holes courses - Breakfast Hill Golf Club and Portsmouth Country Club- and one 9-hole course at Bramber Valley Golf.  All 3 Greenland clubs are public.  Nearby Portsmouth is home to Pease Golf Course, another 18-hole course.  In addition to these courses, there are a number of other courses all within just a short drive of North Hampton and the Seacoast areas.  We're a real golfer's delight here, that's for sure!!

Homes in North Hampton vary from small summer cottages to beautiful huge antique homes and estates.  In the 19th century, North Hampton was a very fashionable summer seaside resort.  Little Boar's Head has some beautifully elegant examples of the Edwardian and Victorian architecture - homes in that area run into the multi-millions.  They are truly beautiful homes in stunning locations - magnificent ocean views from many of them.

Carole - well, come on back this way and take that drive again!!!!  It is surely lovely, no matter the time of year.  I find the ocean to be so soothing, especially if I've been having a trying day - that's a great way to get calmed back down again.

Thanks for reading,
Ann

Nice job Ann the coastal photo looks like it may have been a little chilly out there. Did you get out of the car or take it while rolling the window down?

LOL

MoniKa - thanks for your feedback - it's easy to write about places around here - they're all such great places to live in!

Jay - thanks for the comments! Silly goose - I did get out of the car on that picture.  I actually took that one when we were having our unusually warmer winter weather a few weeks ago.  I did take some a few days ago, and it was darn chilly.  Made me feel like I wished I had stayed in the car and rolled down the window, that's for sure!!  ;-)

Thanks for reading and for the great feedback.

Sue - Hey you!!  Thanks for reading, and it's good to see you out and about around here again.  Better hurry up.....   ;-)

Gena - thanks for your feedback.  Let's see, a home along the coast will run you anywhere from a little under a million to several million.  Of course, I might be able to find you a fixer-upper that could sell for a little less.  And if you don't need to be right on the coast, the prices will be quite a bit less.......what can I fix you up with?????

Mariana - I really appreciate your great feedback - thank you for that!!  And I'm glad you enjoyed my post.  Feel like moving out this way?

Thanks for reading!

There is no comparison to my home town. First you do not have English Pubs or food :) But seriously, your North Hampton looks beautiful -Sea, classic homes, beautiful green space. My home town burnt down for the 2nd time around the time your was settled! We have homes in similar price ranges and similar ages, but they do not sit on the large parcels of land that those in North Hampton do. I love your statistics about the market as well. One day when I am rich, I might find myself living in your town. Here in Des Moines our average house price is around $160,000 - so I need to get selling! :-)

Hi Nigel - I love hearing about your Northampton!!  Yep, our price ranges - Des Moines & North Hampton - are a bit different, but I'd bet the cost of living in your area is somewhat better (lower) than it is here.  I have family in the Dayton Ohio area, and I know I'd love the prices of housing in their area.......

Thanks for stopping back by and giving me some more info on your areas!
