Why Not Allow a Tax Incentive to Home Buyers and Sellers?

Yes, I thought that would spark some interest!  I am one of many Realtors watching the news for Positive Reports about the Real Estate MarketPlace as well as the Economy.

It seems like months of media reporting that the Housing Industry does not affect the Economy.  Let's see, Realtors, Lenders, Builders, Plumbers, HVAC, Carpenters, Carpet Companies... I could go on, but we all know that Housing does affect the economy.

Ah,"The American Dream"...Home Ownership.  Helping Dreams Come True, watching First Time HomeBuyers drive up to their First Home after closing, helping a Relocation Family not only find a home in a strange city, but to connect to a community as well. And how about  Baby Boomers downsizing from a 5 bedroom Cobb County home to a 3 bedroom place on Lake Lanier.... that is the MarketPlace most of signed up for.

In Atlanta, Ga interest rates are terrific, Sellers are motivated and Supply is here.

Today, there is rumor in the media that the government will be disbursing money to spark the economy. Well, it's a boost for Wal-Mart and a start. Will it change our Real Estate MarketPlace?

Why not allow a Tax Incentive to Home Buyers and Sellers?  If the Federal Government is prepared to take action to help our country, which is terrific news, why not focus a bit more? Once upon a time, we were allowed a deduction for interest paid on our credit cards...so, what idea's can we as a group, come up with to present to our local, state and federal government to promote activity and growth in the Housing Industry?
