And The Winning Name Is…..
Xiao Liwu! And who, you may ask, is Xiao Liwu? He is the adorable latest addition to the Panda family at the San Diego Zoo. Today he turns 100 days old and following with Chinese tradition, he was officially named.
When the zoo put out a call for names back in September, they received over 7,000 suggestions from which they narrowed down the list to 6, and from that list the name was chosen, with close to 35,000 votes being cast. Xiao Liwu, which means "Little Gift" in English, was born on July 29th and is the 6th panda cub born at the San Diego Zoo to mother Bai Yun and father Gao Gao.
