Transylvania Habitat for Humanity, Inc. Philosophy
It is the philosophy of Transylvania Habitat for Humanity to provide housing for the needy in Transylvania County through home ownership financed by no interest mortgages reflecting the actual costs of construction. Housing provided should be simple in design yet adequate for the needs of the family. All plans, materials, equipment, appliances, fixtures, etc., should be of standard (medium, moderate, middle) grade.

Since its inception in 1984 in Transylvania County, 54 homes have been built, with the 55th nearing completion.
