John Rogers El Paso, Texas

I ran across an article today in the El Paso Times that says 2.1% of EP households are millionaires. The area has an estimated 6,068 households with at least a million dollars in liquid financial assets and not including real estate. El Paso is not known for being a rich area so this was a surprise to me. It just goes to show you there is money where ever you go. The research was done by Claritas Inc, and does not include real estate assets. Other areas mentioned in the Southwest were

Houston: 51,877, 2.6 percent
Phoenix: 47,607, 2.8 percent
West Palm Beach, Fla.: 31,546, 4.1 percent
San Antonio: 19,771, 2.5 percent
Las Vegas: 17,465, 2.6 percent
Albuquerque-Santa Fe: 16,938, 2.5 percent
Austin: 16,111, 2.7 percent
Tucson-Sierra Vista, Ariz.: 11,921, 2.7 percent
El Paso-Las Cruces: 6,068, 2.1 percent
Harlingen, Texas: 5,612, 1.7 percent
Laredo, Texas: 1,163, 1.8 percent
