AN ACTIVE RAIN FAMILY MEMBER BOOK REVIEW ~ DR. GORDON SELLEY
One of Active Rain's own bloggers now has a book out that he has written about living with pain. Dr. Gordon Selley who is married to our own Cherise Selley, wrote and recently released this book. I was fortunate enough to have a personalized book sent to me.
Most of us have lived at some time or another with pain. Gordon looks at pain in a very different way. Physiologically, pain is there to warn us that something is wrong. Pain always gets a bad rap and we all do whatever we can to avoid pain. Pain of course definitely includes emotional pain.
Gordon has a very personal and on-going challenge with pain that he deals with everyday of his life. His heart-felt book realistically addresses pain on every level. One of my favorite quotes from the book, "I am going to ask you to embrace your pain and step through it to something better."
I was honored to begin discussing this book almost two years ago with Gordon. I too was going through a medical challenge and pain that I came face to face with. Gordon's insightful and fresh approach to dealing with pain was a soothing balm to my soul.
