This weekend I am going to a all day long home building seminar for green construction. It does seem to be the trend in the market and I for one want to know what methods are out there. I also work with an insulation company that sells green fiber and formaldehyde-free insulation.  So it is a natural for me. Do you feel there is more and more green building going on in your area?

We are starting to see a lot more Green Building down here.  The Florida Keys have always been an environmentalist's palace.  I think it is a great idea but what is the cost effectiveness?

Cost? WHo needs to worry about cost.

No just kidding. That is some of the things I will hear about this weekend.  Green insulation doesn't seem to be any higher than the other stuff.

However, solar, materials can be alot higher. We will see..

Tricia,

Listening to the speakers at the green meetings I have been attending have stated that to go green the cost to build only rises by less than 10%.

I also work for a Insulation company that sells Green products. More and more people are asking us for Formaldehyde-free insulation and now are starting to push for foam. It costs more at build but cost less in the utility bills and cost of running the household.
