Keanae Arboretum - home to some monster trees on the way to Hana Maui
It was an adventure in Real Estate yesterday, driving to Kipahulu Maui with some great clients and their 5 little dogs! We stopped at the Keanae Arboretum to stretch our legs and walk into the magnificent forest. It's one of the highlights on the way to Hana, but it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention.
Just before the turn-off for Keanae Peninsula on the left, there's a gate on the right which takes you into the Keanae Arboretum. It's a nice easy trail that meanders alongside a stream, with big trees and tropical specimens all around.
The lushness of this jungle is captivating and you can learn the names of the trees and plants along the way. I just learned that the red spider lilies are called Queen Emma spider lilies! The dogs had a little dip in the water and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Be sure to take a few minutes out of your trip to Hana to get out of the car, feel and smell the jungle and experience a little bit of Maui living. Make some wonderful memories to take home. If you decide that Maui is calling, and we know how that is, then send me an email and we can start the dialog about moving to Maui permanently.
